The stimulation of TLR2/4 results in a selective deletion of miR-18a* and miR-4802 expression, leading to decreased expression of autophagy-related proteins ULK1 and ATG7, and upregulation of miR-34a expression, thereby increasing resistance of colorectal cancer cells to chemotherapy and subsequent progression of cancer [55, 56].
