Macrophage migration inhibitory factor (MIF) a member of the tautomerase family of cytokines is highly expressed in a number of cancers including squamous carcinoma, glioblastoma, cervical adenocarcinoma, malignant melanoma, nasopharyngeal cancer, colon cancer, lung cancer, breast cancer, and prostate cancer20,36–40. The gene discussed is MIF; the disease is lung cancer.
