Tawada and colleagues also showed that ELOVL4 and ceramide synthase 3 (CERS3) expression is decreased in IFN-γ stimulated keratinocytes [16] and IFN-γ has been shown to be highly expressed in skin lesions of psoriasis patients and might be partially associated with barrier dysfunction in psoriasis [17].
