Mutations in the retromer subunit VPS35 have been shown to cause familial late‐onset Parkinson's disease (PD) (Vilarino‐Guell et al, 2011; Zimprich et al, 2011) and have also been detected in a sporadic case of the disease (Zimprich et al, 2011). This evidence concerns the gene VPS35 and late-onset Parkinson disease.
