CASP3, a type of cysteinyl aspartate-specific proteases, functions as an important effector in apoptotic process (Hong et al., 2017), while CYP3A4 encodes a member of the cytochrome P450 superfamily of enzymes and is used as a biomarker for HCC prognosis (Ashida et al., 2017). Here, CASP3 is linked to hepatocellular carcinoma.
