AKT1 and neoplasm: α2-macroglobulin (α2M*), once activated, for example, signals through the glycoprotein 78 (GRP78) via the tumor and, in addition to activating the AKT pathway, regulates glucose-dependent ACLY and acetate-dependent acetyl-CoA synthetase (ACSS2), the acetyl-CoA synthesis (Figure 2N), and subsequent histone acetylation to induce tumor growth (41).
