To assess whether the Stim1 mutation contributes to genetic susceptibility to cerebrovascular disease, SHR-A3 and SHR-A3(Stim1-B2) rats were placed on a stroke-inducing increase in salt intake (1% NaCl in drinking water) for 8 weeks starting at 20 weeks of age [18]. This evidence concerns the gene STIM1 and cerebrovascular disorder.
