Systematically comparing PB and VATs from obese patients with and without dysglycemia and non-diabetic LC, we have addressed phenotypic and functional alterations of CD4 Tconv and CD8 T cells at the obesity site of inflammation, thus elucidating the role of adaptive immunity in the development of obesity-induced type 2 diabetes. This evidence concerns the gene CD8A and obesity due to melanocortin 4 receptor deficiency.
