GPC3 and lung cancer: Decreased glypican-3 expression leads to the progression of malignancies, whereas its loss is associated with poor overall survival.138 However, elevated expression of glypican-3 correlates with reduced cancer cell differentiation and the presence of lymph node metastases in lung cancer.139,140 Glypican-5 overexpression also promotes tumor progression and metastasis in salivary adenoid cystic carcinoma and in rhabdosarcoma.141–143
