N-terminal fragment of pro-B-type natriuretic peptide (NT-proBNP), Galectin−3 (Gal3) and soluble suppression of tumorigenicity 2 (sST2), are associated with myocardial fibrosis [17,18,19] and have a predictive value for an adverse outcome in heart failure patients [20,21].
