ATP-binding cassette transporter A1 (ABCA1), G1 (ABCG1), and scavenger receptor class B type I (SR-BI), present at podocytes, mesangial cells, macrophages, and proximal tubular cells, are the main cholesterol efflux transporters studied in DN [95,96,97].
