In the univariable analysis, older age, smoking status, the presence of diabetes mellitus, coronary artery disease, stroke, and chronic heart failure, low albumin and total cholesterol levels, high left ventricular mass index (LVMI), low LVEF, low E’, and a high ratio of transmitral E-wave velocity (E) to E’ were associated with adverse CV events.
