The explorative comparisons of mGlu5 DVR correlation matrices revealed one significant difference between subjects with BN and controls (Supplementary Figs. S1–7): the correlation between mGlu5 DVR in the ACC and the hippocampus was higher in smokers with BN than in healthy smokers (Fig. 4, smokers with bulimia: Pearson’s r = 0.998, healthy smokers: Pearson’s r = 0.382, Fisher’s r-to-z difference p-value < 0.001, two-tailed, uncorrected for multiple comparisons). This evidence concerns the gene GRM5 and bulimia nervosa.
