In the LPS-induced acute peritonitis mouse model, an increased UDPG level was found, concomitant with the expression of inflammatory cytokines (TNF and IL-6) as well as NO (Fig. 7a, b); however, GPI or 6AN treatment resulted in decreased UDPG levels and markedly suppressed expression of inflammatory genes (Fig. 7a, b). The gene discussed is TNF; the disease is peritonitis.
