To identify miRNAs that are dysregulated during obesity and that may contribute to β cells dysfunction, we performed “miRNome” expression profiling using RNA-seq analysis on RNA isolated from islets of two mouse models of obesity: high fat diet (HFD)-fed mice compared to normal chow diet (NCD) fed mice and mice homozygous for the diabetes db mutation of the leptin receptor (Leprdb/db) compared to wild type controls. This evidence concerns the gene LEPR and obesity disorder.
