A large number of previous studies have found that NT‐proBNP or TnI are good predictors of myocardial infarction, heart failure, ischemic stroke, AF, and mortality.11, 12, 13 Our study did not indicate that TnI level was related to the occurrence of AF, but CK‐MB level, which is also a biomarker of myocardial necrosis, was found to predict the development of AF. The gene discussed is NPPB; the disease is atrial fibrillation.
