TP53 and cancer: NGFR is found to be highly expressed in a variety of cancers, and its association with cancer cell survival, invasive potential, and propagation stem cell-like phenotype may be linked to p53 inactivation (Descamps et al., 2001; Barker, 2004; Soland et al., 2008; Truzzi et al., 2008; Boiko et al., 2010; Civenni et al., 2011; Kim et al., 2012).
