Damages caused by ROS are aimed at deoxyribonucleic acids (DNA), proteins, and lipids and have been observed and studied in corneal diseases [1], cataract [2], retinopathies [3], glaucoma [4], etc. One of the most inspiring discoveries about OS in recent decades has been the elucidation of nuclear factor- (erythroid-derived 2-) like 2 (Nrf2) signaling pathways that regulate OS responses (Figure 1).
