Although deletion of the C-terminal domain of PSGL-1 did not abolish its anti-HIV activity (Fig. 4C), the complete removal of the C terminus of PSGL-1 has been reported to reduce PSGL-1 coclustering with Gag (13) and thus may affect its ability to be incorporated into HIV-1 particles and inhibit viral infection.
