Western blotting was performed to quantify Aβ1–42, p-tau/t-tau, and a disintegrin and metalloproteinase 10 (ADAM10) levels in AD mice hippocampus; ADAM10 has been identified as the constitutive α-secretase in the process of amyloid-β protein precursor (AβPP) cleavage and plays a critical role in reducing the generation of the amyloid-β (Aβ) peptides. Here, APP is linked to Alzheimer disease.
