Using a genetic (siRNA and shRNA directed knockdown) approach to abrogate TR4 expression and small molecule inhibitor (MEK-162) to block TR4 post-translational activation, we demonstrated that TR4 regulates ACTH secretion and tumor growth in both in vitro and in vivo models of CD [146,147,148] (Table 1).
