IL11 and Thrombocytopenia: IL‐11 is produced by a variety of tissues including the heart, central nervous system and gastrointestinal tract.15 Because of the promotion of megakaryocytopoiesis and thrombopoiesis, recombinant human IL‐11 has been extensively used in patients for the prevention of chemotherapy‐induced thrombocytopenia.21 Previous study has suggested that the expression of IL‐11 mRNA and protein significantly decreases during cerebral ischaemia‐reperfusion injury.25 Analogous to previous report, we found that the expression of IL‐11 was decreased under hypoxia.
