Treatment of various pancreatic cancer cell lines with the nucleotide analog gemcitabine inhibited ULBP-2 ectodomain shedding through the suppression of ADAM10, thus leading to an enhancement of NK cell cytotoxicity that was strictly dependent on NKG2D/ULBP-2 interaction (74). This evidence concerns the gene ULBP2 and familial pancreatic carcinoma.
