While in other PID patients in our cohort, T-cell production (thymopoiesis) is not the mechanism responsible for the immunodeficiency, but their mutation leads to more complex changes broadly termed as dysregulation (WAS, ALPS, IPEX, ZAP70, CID), the SCID-RTE tube was also able to find abnormalities, mainly in the naïve/RTE compartments and in the T cell subset activation status. This evidence concerns the gene ZAP70 and immunodeficiency disease.
