From the bioinformatics analyses in the present study, the key gene signatures were predicted to be predominantly associated with the classical “Osteoarthritis Pathway.” Comparing the microarray data of HYAL1-overexpressed vs. control HFL-1 fibroblasts, we observed significant downregulation of RUNX2 (FC = −1.185, FDR < 0.01; Benjamini-Hochberg method), a transcription factor reported to be overexpressed in lung fibroblasts of non-small-cell lung cancer [53]. This evidence concerns the gene HYAL1 and osteoarthritis.
