In numerous studies conducted previously, it has been reported that increased serum P and intact parathyroid hormone (iPTH) levels, and reduced levels of serum 1,25-dihydroxyvitamin D (1,25(OH)2D) go along with an elevation in serum FGF23 levels in patients with CKD [6, 9]. The gene discussed is FGF23; the disease is chronic kidney disease.
