Criteria for the diagnosis of HFpEF based on the European Society of Cardiology’s guidelines include the presence of symptoms and signs, left ventricular ejection fraction more than or equal to 50%, an elevated N-terminal pro-b-type natriuretic peptide (NT-pro-BNP) or BNP, and either of the following: relevant structural left heart disease like left ventricular hypertrophy (LVH) or left atrial enlargement (LAE) or evidence of diastolic dysfunction. Here, NPPB is linked to left ventricular hypertrophy.
