In this study, polymorphisms in three genes involved in the metabolism of carcinogens or in the repair of damaged DNA in lung cells, TERT (rs2853669), OGG1 (rs1052133), and CHRNA5 (rs16969968), were examined for association with NSCLC risk in a case-control study of 144 patients and 211 control subjects of Eastern Algerian population in an attempt to explain this interindividual difference. Here, CHRNA5 is linked to non-small cell lung carcinoma.
