The two hPCL3 isoforms and particularly the short isoform hPCL3S are markedly and widely up-regulated in many types of cancers including colon, skin, lung, rectal, cervical, uterus and liver cancers, as shown by dot blot analyses of matched normal and tumors tissues from 19 different types as well as in melanoma and glioma cells lines [21]. Here, PHF19 is linked to central nervous system cancer.
