New findings in breast cancer cells indicate that plasma membrane calcium ATPase2 (PMCA2) is vital for the localization of HER2 and its partners, EGFR and HER3, to activate membrane signaling domains contributing to HER2's ability to transform cells when overexpressed and prevent HER2 internalization after receptor stimulation and it sustains downstream signal transduction.
