A recent study considering incident hypoglycemia in older people (n = 5,130; mean age 73.8 ± 6.1) in relation to sitagliptin, reported no increase in hypoglycemia when sitagliptin was used as an adjunct to metformin but it did increase in association with SUs and insulin with respective odds ratios of 2.2 and 17.7 (51).
