The mRNA levels of the rate-limiting glycogenolytic enzyme glycogen phosphorylase, muscle associated (Pygm) and of another glycogenolytic enzyme phosphorylase kinase regulatory subunit alpha 1 (Phka1) in GN muscle were increased (about +120%, p < 0.05, Figure 4B) and tended to be increased (about +80%, p = 0.084, Figure 6B), respectively, in the EX + NA group compared to the control group.
