Flow cytometric analysis showed that the increased cancer stem cell-like properties (CD44+/CD133+) after chemotherapy treatments (carb group or VP-16 group) were reversed by knocking down GLI1 (VP-16 + si group or carb + si group) (Fig. 5i, j), indicating the crucial role of GLI1 in the regulation of CSC-like characteristics. This evidence concerns the gene GLI1 and cancer.
