In one study enrolling 414 patients with acute myocardial infarction (AMI) treated by primary percutaneous coronary intervention, levels of hypoxia inducible factor 1A antisense RNA 2, KCNQ1OT1, MALAT1 and ANRIL in peripheral blood cells were significantly altered with AMI. This evidence concerns the gene CDKN2B-AS1 and myocardial infarction.
