Clinical stability was defined as at least two years old, on ART for more than a year and the same regimen for at least three months, no adverse drug reactions requiring regular monitoring or current illness (including malnutrition), evidence of treatment success (two consecutive viral load measurements of <1000 copies/mL, rising CD4 counts or CD4 counts >200 cells/mm3) and caregivers orientated on the disclosure process.
