We also replicated its association with gout in a Japanese population using a candidate gene approach.19 Other loci have been previously reported to have an association with gout in our previous GWASs6 7 and association studies.20 21 As suggestive loci for gout, seven loci: PDZK1, TACR1-EVA1A, LOC100128993, ARID5B, TOLLIP-AS1-BRSK2, SLC38A1 and MLXIP, were detected (see online supplementary table S4). This evidence concerns the gene BRSK2 and gout.
