The Wisteria floribunda agglutinin-positive human Mac-2 binding protein (WFA+–M2BP) was developed as a non-invasive serum marker for predicting fibrosis in chronic hepatitis C [11] and has been subsequently used as an accurate and simple tool for evaluating liver fibrosis [12,13,14,15]. Here, LGALS3BP is linked to chronic hepatitis C virus infection.
