INS and Hypoglycemia: Only 2 patients did not reach the target hypoglycaemia of ≤ 2.2 mmol/L as at near-target glucose levels (2.6 mmol/L in 1 patient and 2.4 mmol/L in the other); they already had clinical signs of severe hypoglycaemia (somnolence, reduced arousal, and increased perspiration) such that it was considered unethical to administer more insulin.
