CDH2 and gastric cancer: Importantly, manipulation of ITGA2 triggered EMT marker alterations, as E-cadherin was dramatically reduced in GC cells overexpressing ITGA2, whereas silencing ITGA2 restored E-cadherin and repressed N-cadherin and Vimentin in the chemoresistant GC cells, implying that EMT and chemoresistance may intrinsically be linked via ITGA2.
