As expected, pro-inflammatory genes (e.g., Ifnb1, MCP-1/Ccl2, Cxcl10) associated with a response to viral infection were most prominently upregulated in H3N2 and H5N1 infected mice, as evident in gene ontology (GO) analyses (Figure 5A; Tables S1, S2).
