MYO18B and cancer: Subsequently, increasing evidences show that myosin-18B gene mutations and its altered expression levels are involved in the progression of various cancer types including lung, colorectal, and ovarian cancer, as well as in cardiomyopathy and muscle weakness in humans, mice, and zebrafish (Ajima et al., 2008, Alazami et al., 2015, Berger et al., 2017, Gurung et al., 2017, Malfatti et al., 2015, Nakano et al., 2005, Nishioka et al., 2002, Yanaihara et al., 2004).
