Genome-wide association studies (GWAS) have identified two single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) at the Lp(a) locus (LPA) on chromosome 6q26–27 (rs3798220 and rs10455872) that were strongly and independently related to Lp(a) levels and with the risk of CAD [3–7]. This evidence concerns the gene LPA and coronary artery disorder.
