Regarding metabolic parameters, patients with PCOS had significantly higher serum concentrations of LDL cholesterol (Z = −5,158, p < 0,001), glucose, and insulin 1 h and 2 h during the oral glucose tolerance test (glucose 1 h: Z = −2,395, p = 0,017; glucose 2 h: Z = −2,174, p = 0,030; insulin 1 h: Z = −2,882, p = 0,004; insulin 2 h: Z = −3,513, p < 0,001) and significantly lower concentrations of HDL cholesterol (Z = −5,268, p < 0,001). Here, INS is linked to polycystic ovary syndrome.
