Since it has been well established that transcription factor p53 reduces cell proliferation in response to stress, molecular mechanism experiments conducted by Li et al. (2018a) revealed that H19 could prevent murine double minute 2-mediated reduction of p53 via interacting with hypoxia-induced factor 1α, which in the hypoxic environment of aneurysm triggers apoptosis in HA-VSMCs. This evidence concerns the gene TP53 and aneurysm.
