Rhone et al. [92] investigated the association of circulating EPC (CD45−, CD34+, CD133+, CD31+ with common cancer determinants in non-metastatic breast cancer concluding that elevation was positively correlated first of all with cancer disease, when compared to a healthy cohort, with patient age over 60, with positive Her-2 status, and was negatively correlated with histopathological grading. The gene discussed is PECAM1; the disease is cancer.
