Till date, NLRP3 inflammasome is widely studied in liver diseases with its activity in liver diseases being comprehensively investigated, and numerous studies showing a key role of NLRP3 inflammasome in the pathogenesis of liver diseases, especially NAFLD, liver fibrosis, cirrhosis, and HCC (Wu et al., 2015; Yang et al., 2016; Wei et al., 2019). This evidence concerns the gene NLRP3 and Hepatic fibrosis.
