IAPP and early-onset autosomal dominant Alzheimer disease: Javed et al. (2018) coated CNTs with fragmented β-lactoglobulin amyloid nanofibrils and demonstrated both in vitro and in vivo that the hybrid CNTs could mitigate the aggregation-associated cytotoxicity of both islet amyloid polypeptide (IAPP, a.k.a. amylin) in type-2 diabetes and amyloid-β (Aβ) in Alzheimer's disease.
