TRPM8 and prostate carcinoma: Interestingly, these authors suggested that the TRPM8 channel might act as a testosterone receptor, since immunoprecipation with anti-DHT/testosterone IgG showed high levels of TRPM8 protein from different cells including the prostate cancer cell lines LNCaP and PC3, the prostate epithelial cell line RWPE-2 and HEK cells stably expressing TRPM8 channels, after being incubated with testosterone (1 μM) for 3 h.
