It was confirmed that impairing the expression of miR-134-5p can promote cell proliferation, inhibit cell apoptosis, accelerate cell migration, invasion, and induce EMT and moreover contribute to multidrug resistance such as cisplatin (targeting MBTD1), 5-FU (targeting KRAS) and paclitaxel (targeting TAB1) in several carcinoma cells including non-small-cell lung, gastric, nasopharyngeal, ovarian cancers and osteosarcoma 32-35,55,56. Here, MBTD1 is linked to ovarian cancer.
