APOE and hyperlipidemia: Fig. 1e shows that the consumption of a high-fat diet for 24 weeks resulted in higher serum cholesterol (P < 0.01), low-density lipoprotein (P < 0.01) and high-density lipoprotein (P < 0.01) levels in the ApoE−/− mice than in the normal group, indicating that the hyperlipidaemia model had been successfully constructed.
